Quote options

Let the client choose, on one quote

Good, better and best as three priced options on a single document. They pick one. The other two stand down on their own.

The quote that comes back with questions is usually the one that offered a single number. A client who cannot see what the cheaper version leaves out has nothing to weigh, so they go and get another price instead. Offer groups put the choice on the page: several priced options, side by side, on one quote, and the moment one is accepted the others are closed out and the job is built from what they picked.

Three prices, one document

Build each option line by line from the Price Book or type it in freehand, with its own discounts, terms and totals. They sit on one quote as an offer group, not as three separate documents you have to keep in step. Change a rate in the Price Book and the option that uses it reprices with it. The client sees what each one includes and what it leaves out, which is the part that lets somebody say yes to the middle one.

They pick one and the rest stand down

Show the quote on your phone at the kitchen table, or send a link and let them accept from wherever they are. Either way you record accept or decline against the quote itself. When one option is accepted the others stand down automatically, so there is no second version still live and no argument later about which price was agreed. The scope freezes at that moment: a signed quote cannot be quietly edited afterward.

The accepted option becomes the invoice

The option they chose already holds the lines, the rates and the terms, so the invoice is built from it in one tap and the job is counted once rather than typed twice. The two prices they did not take do not follow the job around. What stays on the record is the one they signed and what it contained on the day.

What it costs, and what is on a paid size

Quoting costs nothing to start, there is no card, and it does not expire. One thing worth being straight about: putting your own logo on the quote PDF is on a paid size. The starting size sends the quote with Zeus branding on it, and the pricing page sets out what each size includes.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as an estimate?
It is the same document. Zeus calls it a quote everywhere, because one word for one thing is easier to work with than two, and a lot of people type estimate when they mean exactly this.
How many options can I put on one quote?
Good, better and best is the shape most people use, and the offer group is not limited to that. Put the options on that the job actually has, and leave off the ones you would not want them to pick.
What happens to the options nobody chose?
They stand down as soon as one is accepted. They stay on the record of what was offered, so you can see later what the choice was, but they are no longer live and cannot be accepted by mistake.
Can I do this with no signal?
You can build the quote with no signal, the same as everything else on the job. Getting a signature is the step that needs a connection, on purpose, because a signature only your own phone can vouch for is the one that gets argued with later.

A single price asks the client to say yes or no. Three prices ask them which one, which is a different question and a much easier one to answer. How Zeus helps you win the work covers quoting end to end, and the pricing page lists what each size includes.
